Before Your First Session
Before starting treatment, you’ll have an initial consultation with Dr. Virginie Aimé, an experienced aesthetic physician. She will examine your skin, review your medical history, and ensure there are no contraindications. You’ll also receive detailed pre-treatment instructions to minimize risks.
Preparation Guidelines :
- Avoid plucking, waxing, or other hair removal methods for at least three weeks before treatment.
- Do not expose the treatment area to the sun for at least one month before your first session.
- Shave the treatment area the day before or on the day of your appointment to enhance laser effectiveness.
During Your Session
The session takes place in the clinic. You’ll wear protective goggles to shield your eyes from the laser light. The handheld laser device is applied to the treatment area, emitting light that targets hair follicles.
A cooling system integrated into the laser delivers bursts of cold air to minimize heat sensations, making the procedure virtually painless. Treatment duration varies based on the area, ranging from 10 to 40 minutes.
You may experience mild redness after the session, which typically subsides within a few hours or days. Dr. Aimé will prescribe a soothing cream to apply post-treatment.
Post-Treatment Care
To maintain results and avoid irritation :
- Hydrate your skin with the prescribed cream immediately after the session and in the following days.
- Avoid sun exposure and heat for several days post-treatment.
- Results appear progressively as treated hair falls out over time.
