Why Does My Face Lose Firmness ?

Physiological aging leads to a gradual decrease in collagen and elastin production, proteins that give skin its structure, elasticity, and firmness. As time passes, skin texture changes, becoming thinner, less voluminous, and less elastic.

This laxity can also result from significant stretching of skin fibers, particularly if stretching occurs repeatedly. Certain medications, such as antidepressants, may also contribute to skin laxity. Lifestyle factors that accelerate skin aging (sun exposure, smoking, poor diet) can further exacerbate skin sagging.

How Does Cristal Skin Radiofrequency Work on Facial Laxity?

Radiofrequency is based on high-frequency electromagnetic waves that generate controlled heat within the subcutaneous tissues, triggering fibroblast thermoactivation, contraction and tightening of existing elastin and collagen fibers, and the production of new ones.

Cristal Skin radiofrequency stimulates the following skin mechanisms :

  • Heating of subcutaneous tissues
  • Thermoactivation of fibroblasts
  • Contraction and tightening of existing elastin and collagen fibers
  • Production of new elastin and collagen fibers

These processes improve skin firmness and texture, making radiofrequency an excellent choice to address sagging and laxity by directly targeting the underlying causes.

Cristal Skin radiofrequency acts on the deeper skin layers without overheating the epidermis. Its precision is ensured by an applicator with three to six electrodes, delivering controlled energy and allowing for accurate treatment of the targeted area.

What to Expect During a Cristal Skin Radiofrequency Session for Facial Tightening with Dr. Aimé

An initial consultation is essential: following an in-depth analysis of your skin characteristics and consideration of your aesthetic goals, Dr. Aimé will propose a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

The primary factor in determining your radiofrequency treatment plan is the degree of skin laxity. The number of sessions will vary based on individual needs, with cumulative effects that gradually strengthen the skin’s support network. Maintenance sessions may also be recommended. Age and overall skin condition are also important considerations, which may lead to complementary treatments and a comprehensive approach.

During a Cristal Skin radiofrequency session, the patient is comfortably positioned, and a glycerin-based gel is applied to the treatment area to allow the applicator to glide smoothly.

The doctor performs circular and linear motions with the applicator until the temperature reaches between 39°C and 45°C, depending on the indication. This temperature is maintained momentarily, monitored throughout the session using an infrared sensor. The treatment is painless; patients experience only a warm sensation that can be pleasant and relaxing. Each session lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Contraindications for Facial Radiofrequency

Facial radiofrequency is not suitable for everyone.

It is contraindicated for patients with pacemakers, metal implants, those who are pregnant, or have skin lesions.

In addition, if your skin is irritated, inflamed, or if you have scarring issues (such as keloids), this treatment is not recommended.

Aftercare Following Cristal Skin Radiofrequency for the Face

No social downtime is required: patients can resume their usual activities immediately after the session. Mild redness may appear, which is a normal effect of radiofrequency and should not be a cause for concern.

Results After a Facial Radiofrequency Session

Cristal Skin radiofrequency yields excellent results, which appear progressively. To achieve satisfactory results, an average of 6 to 10 sessions is recommended, spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart.

Generally, the first effects become visible after the third session: the skin appears smoother and firmer. New collagen production continues for up to 2 to 3 months after completing the treatment protocol.

Maintenance sessions can be scheduled every 4 to 6 months, depending on individual needs.

The cost is €150 per session, with discounted rates for multiple sessions and package pricing available.
